Some background on the Faroese Government:

Research shows that the Faroe Islands have a population of 48,228 (2013). The total GDP for 2013 was £1.39 billions, and the nominal GDP increased by 3.0% in 2012 and 7.5% in 2013. Since 2010, there has been a surplus on the Faroese balance of payments. The global financial crisis caused unemployment to rise from 1.5% in 2007 to 8.1% in 2011, which is relatively high in Faroese terms. Unemployment has, however, reduced during the past four years and is currently at around 3.5% (Jan. 2015).

We’re owned and operated by Eyjolfur Gislason, an IT professional who holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Danish Technical University, received in 1990, and also holds a U.S. patent in data management (http://www.google.com/patents/US8676772).

Located in the Faroe Islands, we work with government agencies (including several Faroese Government departments), hospitals, corporations, telecoms, and other entities where data is collected, stored, and utilised in decision-making.

In the period from 1997 to 2000, Mr. Gislason worked full-time at the Office of Public Works, and the Teldware™ flagship product was developed and supported at Gjaldstovan as a part-time consulting activity.

In 2001, he started full-time consulting. In the period from 2001 to 2003, the Teldware™ solution was improved on a part-time basis, but still most of Mr. Gislason’s consulting in that period was for Faroese Telecom, work unrelated to the Teldware™ product. In 2004, Teldware™ reached a tipping point in terms of widespread user adoption among a large number of Faroese Government institutions, because of improved functionality and data being relevant to more people.

In the period from 2004 to 2015, Mr. Gislason’s allocation of time had gradually shifted from general consulting (Faroese Telecom and others) to more and more hands-on Teldware™ product development for Gjaldstovan.

In 2014, 67% of Mr. Gislason’s time was consulting for Gjaldstovan (mostly Teldware-related), 18% for City Organisation of Tórshavn (all Teldware™-product related).

That is, 85% was related to Teldware™ product, and the rest (15%) was general IT consulting for Faroese Telecom and other organisations.
